In 2011, uber talented twenty-one year old Zac Posen was the most talked about fashion designer in New York. His structured and sophisticated designs were worn on innumerable red carpets by celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, and Naomi Campbell. But after the wunderkind’s distinct style fell from fashion he received several seasons of less-than-stellar reviews and his business began to struggle.
Despite a rather tumultuous career, it’s safe to say everything turned out well for Posen. The resilient designer is now running two eponymous brands, Zac Posen and ZAC Zac Posen, serves as the creative director of Brooks Brothers, is a judge on Project Runway, and has a cookbook due out this fall.
House of Z, directed by Sandy Chronopoulos, chronicles the meteoric rise, epic fall from favor, and challenging resurgence of Zac Posen. The film will debut exclusively on Vogue.com on September 6 but you can get a first look at the trailer here.
